The Failings of Switching Perspective

I don’t think I have read a work of fiction recently that has stuck with me the way that the book You by Caroline Kepnes has. It is horrifying in a way that is truly unique because Joe is not just a monster, he is a monster in human skin that you come across on a daily basis. He’s a guy who’s “not like other guys”, a gentleman, the “nice guy” who complains about being put in the “friend zone”. He’s a contrarian to the point that he thinks he is superior to other people just for liking things that are different from the mainstream. What nails this for the book is the fact that it is written…
